Happy Dogs Run

Excuse the state of the yard...we're dirt deep prepping the yard for new sod.  And for Patina's part...well she's churning the soil.

Pochacco & Patina

We decided to try fostering so we hooked up with Lab & Friends.

Patina is a lab-boxer mix (I think).  She's so sweet and extremely submissive.  She's very intelligent and knows the basic commands in addition to being house broken.  Will anyone love her?  Check out her website on Labs and Friends.

Pochacco is certainly trying...this is his idea of sharing his bed.  (hmmm, never realized how big he was)

FIVE Years Old!

Our puppy turned five on April 18th.  It's been a difficult year with losing his best friend and then going through two surgeries.  I think (hope) he's finally over the rough patch and on the way to a great recovery.
TTA surgery (knee surgery).  We had built him a bed and placed it in the middle of the living room.  We took turns staying home with him to ensure to restrict his movements.

6 weeks after his first surgery we had brought him in for his final x-rays.  It turned out that he had broken a bone and thus the screws were no longer securing the plate to the bone.

He went in for a second surgery.  This time we taped a box to his leg so he would not be inclined to lay on his injured leg.  (He was not a happy camper)

Even with his injured leg he's helping with folding the laundry.

our sweet Mochi

After a year long struggle, Mochi passed away 26 December 2013.  We'll miss her drool, tumble weed of fur throughout the house, digging up the yard, her uncanny ability to make anyone smile and her sweet sweet nature.  If there is such a place I now understand why people say all dogs go to heaven.
Thank you for bringing us so much happiness...we miss you so much.

SHE'S ALIVE

Quick update...it's been about 2 months since her surgery and her fur is growing back nicely.  After a two episodes of cluster seizures we are trying a new medication, potassium bromide.  It's been about 6 weeks on this medication and 3 weeks since her last seizure.
(can you tell she had two huge sutures...each at least a foot long)
